RowdyHacks is a free, weekend-long, overnight hackathon where students network, code and collaborate. Students form teams to 'hack together' a coding or technology related project that they can submit to competition tracks at the end of the weekend for a chance to win prizes. They can also attend coding workshops, mini events, socials, and network with our industry partners. Attendance is free and all meals, snacks, and drinks are provided. We welcome hackers from all disciplines, backgrounds and technical levels! This year RowdyHacks will be in-person (masks required) and on campus (in the HSU Ballrooms) March 26-27th.
RowdyHacks aims to cultivate a collaborative, tech-centered community. We strive to bring together students of all disciplines to enrich their technical knowledge and encourage collaboration among students with diverse perspectives.
MLH, or Major League Hacking, is the student hackathon league that supports RowdyHacks! You’ll see them in our ceremonies, having their own challenges and prizes, and you’ll see our very own MLH Coach, Jacklyn, virtually on our Whova. Jacklyn will also be running several side events, so keep an eye out for them!
Yearly, MLH powers “over 200 weekend-long invention competitions that inspire innovation, cultivate communities and teach computer science skills to more than 65,000 students around the world. MLH is an engaged and passionate maker community, consisting of the next generation of technology leaders and entrepreneurs.”
RowdyHacks will be following the MLH code of conduct. No exceptions are to be made for conduct-breaking behavior, so please respect your fellow hackers! If something happens that makes you feel uncomfortable, message an organizer, Jacklyn, or send an email to [email protected]. If you're worried that "it's no big deal" or asking yourself "what if I'm just overreacting," message us anyways. We're here to listen and help!
